Kinder-6th Grade

The Kinder-6th grade Afterschool program provides holistic student support through homework help, academic enrichment, and recreation time. Reading intervention is provided to select students in need of additional support. Students develop social emotional skills and identity through special interest clubs such as computer coding, financial literacy, gardening, art, guitar, soccer, and many more. The program emphasizes healthy relationships, positive decision-making, conflict-resolution and belonging via structured play, strong routines, and intentional practice, helping students grow as learners and leaders.

Students receive a snack upon arrival and a warm dinner daily. Transportation from school to Afterschool is provided from Lorenzo de Zavala, St. Mary of Carmel, and Uplift Heights Primary/Secondary campuses.

Registration Information

In order to maintain the quality of the Afterschool program, classroom sizes are capped at 25 students totaling 75 students in Kinder-6th grade. Due to limited capacity priority registration access for Afterschool registration is given by the following criteria:

  • Families enrolled and active in summer camp (B3X/Summit) have priority registration at the B3X Camp Graduation Party
  • 8/4-8/10 active families enrolled in ASP, B3X, or previous semester of Scholars have access to registration
  • 8/11-8/17 new families who live in 75212 and/or attend the Pinkston feeder pattern schools
  • 8/18-8/24 priority enrollment for families who attend charter/private 75212 schools but live out of zip
  • 8/25 general enrollment opens

The Afterschool application will be available online and in person.

Cost: The enrollment cost is $50 for the first child in a household and $10 for every additional child. Bus transportation from qualifying schools costs $20 per child per semester.

Financial aid is available to families upon request so that registration fees are not a barrier to anyone participating in Wesley-Rankin’s programs.
