Adult Driver License Fast Track
Through a partnership between Wesley-Rankin Community Center and South Dallas Driving Academy, those who are over 18 years old and already know how to drive can apply to obtain their driver’s license this summer at a reduced cost.
May 26th, 6-7pm: Enrollment & Registration
May 27th – June 3rd: Permit Course Completion
June 11th OR June 18th, 9:00am – 12pm: DPS Permit Day ($33)
Between June 15-17 or 22-23, you will schedule a 1-hr session to demonstrate driving test readiness and final prep for going back to DPS.
July 9th or July 16th, 9:00am – 12pm: DPS License Day ($11)

**Priority enrollment for current Wesley-Rankin participants and 75212 residents will continue through May 1, 2026. After this period, enrollment will be open on a first-come, first-served basis to all applicants until all spots are filled.
Adult Academy
Wesley-Rankin Community Center supports families through a variety of life skills & educational Adult Learning Modules offered in spring and fall, meeting once per week for nine weeks. Courses are available in mornings and evenings. Adults may choose one or more classes. Past courses have covered financial literacy, family fitness, mental health, and ESL.
Attendance and participation are incentivized with gift cards for Christmas, and vouchers to purchase school uniforms in the spring. In addition to Learning Modules, Adult Academy also hosts several parent workshops throughout the school year. Workshop attendance also contributes to incentive requirements. Participants who complete the Leadership Council training course are able to join Wesley-Rankin’s Leadership Council. The Adult Academy operates September-May. At the end of each semester, program participants are awarded gift cards based on hours of coursework, workshops, and attendance.
12 hours – $25 card
24 hours – $50 gift card*
36 hours – $75 gift card
*If a participant does not have children, they can receive a maximum of $50 of gift cards for 24 hours of coursework.
